I Grandi Dolori Sono Muti (2006)

I Grand Dolori sono Muti emerged following a miscarriage after an IVF cycle and explores issues of emptiness and the loss of what might have been. The materials and processes used reflect those ideas - small latex sculptural forms filled with my breath to prevent them from collapsing.

Some of the small forms balance on wire, heightening their vulnerability. Others, referencing the medicalisation of conception, are lined up on a science bench. The Incomplete Circle explores potential never to be fulfilled.
